SLAM Emergency Airway Provider Course: This 10-hour course presents key aspects of emergency airway management including:

·  airway management updates and recommendations from Guidelines 2005 by the

·  American Heart Association and the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation;

·  assessment of the airway and clinical situation;

·  proper use of rapid sequence induction and intubation;

·  pharmacology of airway management,

·  advanced techniques for difficult intubation;

·  rescue ventilation options;

·  cricothyrotomy;

·  confirmation of tracheal intubation and monitoring of lung ventilation;

·  new fiberscopic and video laryngoscopic equipment suitable for use in EMS;

·  management of burn and inhalation injuries;

·  management of the traumatized airway and cervical spine injured patient;

·  management of the airway in the emergency pregnant patient;

·  pediatric airway management;

·  sedation/analgesia for post-intubation management
